People ask us when and how we got started in breeding. I had Neko and Cierra with NO plans on Breeding them. Just wanted to train them and show/trial them.  I was working 2 jobs at the time (while learning the AKC show's/schutzhund) and did not know Cierra was in heat. Before I knew it she had dug her way out of her kennel into Neko's kennel (when I was at 1 of my jobs) then out popped 12 (Yes 12) German Shepherd Puppies. All survived and we found good homes for all of them. I then wanted to learn as much as I could about health testing/breeding/pedigree's, so there it began. If you count the unplanned breeding between Cierra and Neko then we have been breeding since 1999, but we've been raising German Shepherds since 1993. 

We actually started with our first American/German, German Shepherd (Neko) back in 1993. At that time we only did AKC showing, and won several ribbons, etc and received his AKC CD.  About 1 year later (1994) we were introduced into the schutzhund world. We were so over whelmed when we went to our first schutzhund trial. It was amazing to us.  It was nothing compared to AKC,  and looked so much more rewarding. We did pass and get our schutzhund BH with Neko. We also put a BH on a family member's German Shepherd Dog, as well as our other dog Layla.

We then purchased our 2nd German Shepherd Dog that is 1/2 West Show and 1/2 West Working lines.  The more we worked our West girl (Cierra) the more we realized that she was more of a laid back loving girl, either though her father was imported from Germany to our local police department as a K9 police dog.  
 
Then we decided to purchase are next German Shepherd Dog that was 77% East German DDR and the rest was West Working Lines (Layla).  Layla was crazy for the sport. She was extremely civil, and that is what I loved about her!!! She had been tested on a hidden sleeve and did not hesitate at all for the bite. She flew down the field and latched on to the hidden sleeve with a nice full bite. She was also our PPD (personal protection dog) as well. With her pedigree we became involved in researching the East German DDR lines.

So there began are breeding of East German DDR and West working lines. We Love this combination because the DDR mellows out some of the  west working lines and brings in the thick bone, blocky heads, and Gorgeous pigment and the west working lines bring in the food/prey drive, etc. We have had Great results with this combination. We will not say we know it all, because we will always be learning until the day we die. We can say that we strive to bring into this world the best of the German Shepherd Dog that we can. We do this for the German Shepherd Dog in a whole, with sound temperament, health, clear mind, broad head, strength, structure, social, and over all wellness from Boeselager German Shepherds. Every puppy/dog that  we have is treated just like a part of our family. Their not just a kennel dog. We don't just sell a puppy/dog and that's it. We are always there to help out with the puppy/dog that you purchase from Boeselager German Shepherds. We believe that the German Shepherd Dog to be a Healthy, Intelligent, and Highly Versatile Breed. Our Gorgeous German Shepherd Dogs are truly Amazing, and it shows in their progeny. We have puppies that are working in schutzhund or IPO, Nose work, SDA, PPD, AKC events, UKC events, being trained to be a service dog, etc.

We are a Small Family owned Breeder of East German DDR Lines as well as DDR/West Working Lines. We Only have 1-2 Litters a year because we Strongly Believe in Quality over Quantity. We put all of our love/attention on 1 litter at a time verses 2 or more litters at the same time. We believe this is the best way to raise a litter of German Shepherd puppies.

We put all of our focus on East German DDR lines and the West Working lines. We have been combining the DDR/West working lines for over 7 years with Excellent results. We also do Full East German DDR breedings as well.
 
We strive to produce puppies that will fit into any lifestyle. Whether that be Family Companion/Guardian, LE, SAR, PPD, AKC/UKC events, etc or schutzhund. We are Very committed in producing puppies with Sound Mind, Sound Body, Correct Structure, Thick Bone, Broad/Blocky Heads, Deep Rich Pigment and over all Wellness.. 

Our puppies can settle in a home environment with children and/or be put into a working environment. Our breeding dogs are Clear of DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) and are OFA certified with hips and elbows. All of our dogs have pedigree's that are Packed Full of High Titled Well Known East German DDR dogs and of West Working dogs. We are Always there for the life of the puppy that you purchase from Boeselager. That's our commitment to our Puppy Clients. Honesty is our Best Policy.
